Nordic Blue, the cyanotypes
exhibition at Dokfoto (Estonia)
Some months ago Dokfoto gallery in Tallinn asked me to make cyanotypes prints out of my b/w negative plates from Man and Nature in the Nordic and Baltic Countries.The result is a total new exhibition with
around 70 cyanotypes in different sizes, visible from August 25 at the recently renovated amazing Estonian
gallery. All analogue UV printed for the occasion at my darkroom at Atelier Nyboder. Rural landscapes, portraits of people in their everyday environments met on several trips through the Nordic Countries since 2012 until today.
The exhibition will last until the middle of November.
All the exhibited cyanotypes at Dokfoto Keskus are for sale.

Norden opens at Kunstraum
Mitterhofer in Innichen (Italy)
Kunstraum Mitterhofer is a very active photo gallery based in the enchanting Alpine village Innichen, in Northern Italy. The owner Manfred Mitterhofer spontaneously visited our Atelier Nyboder in Copenhagen last September 2022.
After a quick chat about Photography we agreed right away to make an exhibition at his gallery.
The exhibition Norden is a collection of photographs from Scandinavia and the Baltic Countries. Around 30 b/w photographs, all analogue printed for the occasion in our darkroom at Atelier Nyboder. Rural landscapes, portraits of people in their everyday environments met on several trips through the Nordic Countries since 2012 until today.
The exhibition will last until the beginning of June. All the exhibited photographs at Kunstraum Mitterhofer are for sale.

New exhibition about Sogn
opening in Kaupanger (NO)
Sogn is one of the historical regions of Norway, it is known for its astonishing fjord landscapes and its traditional rural culture. The project "Sogn - Folk og Landskab" is a work in progress.
So far three fieldworks in the region have been done between 2019 and 2022. The results of these trips are now visible at Sogn Folkemuseum in Kaupanger, 25 b/w analogue prints, many of those exhibited for the first time.

"Smaalensbilder" exhibited at
Borgarsyssel Museum (NO)
The photo documentary project about the
Norwegian historical region Østfold is now exhibited at Borgarsyssel Museum in Sarpsborg.
Around 35 b/w photographs documenting the
rural landscape, the architecture and people of
Østfold. The pictures have been taken during a two weeks fieldwork in the summer 2020. The exhibition will be hanging in the newly renovated Borgarsyssel Museum until spring 2023.

Jordfast prized as best photo book in 2022
by Danish Book Producers Association
"Forening for Boghaandværk" has prized Jordfast as best Danish produced book in the category photo and art books. The prize was given by the association at a ceremony at The Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen on August 29. The book published in 2021 is a collaboration between the photographer Luca Berti, graphic designer Rikke Blicher and Samsø Museum's director Naja Kjærgård Laursen. The book is exhibited together with the other prized books of different categories until the middle of October at The Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen.
It is still possible to buy Jordfast at Samsø Museum for
350,- DKK (around 50 €). The book has a hard cover and 154 pages. The b/w photographs inside the book are a selection exhibited at Samsø Museum in 2021. All the photographs are taken with analog medium and large format cameras between 2013 and 2021.

Løgumkloster (DK) exhibiting
Wadden Sea's photo project
"Das Wattenmeer - Vadehavet" photo exhibition is now possible to watch in the astonishing exhibition room of the ancient Løgumkloster monastery.
The exhibition is a photo documentary about the people and landscape of the Danish and German regions by the Wadden sea: Nord Friesland and Sønderjylland. The photographs have been taken on several bicycle trips along the coastline and the islands of the Wadden Sea. The result of this long and
exciting fieldwork is now also visible in form of a book published by the Danish Nationalpark Vadehavet.

"Spor Etter Oss" until April 2022
at Sunnmøre Museum (NO)
"Spor Etter Oss" opened this October at Sunnmøre Museum in Ålesund (NO). The exhibition is
a documentary work on the people and the nature of the historical region Sunnmøre in Norway.
The photographs have been taken on a 3 weeks
bicycle trip around the municipalities: Ørsta, Volda, Fjord, Ålesund, Ulstein, Hareid, Sula and Sykkylven. The result of this fieldwork is visible at the newly renovated open-air museum located in Ålesund. The museum will inherited all the 33 exhibited b/w prints for their archive in order to be still visible in the future once the exhibition will be over.

"Das Wattenmeer" is now
at Multimar Wattforum (DE)
"Das Wattenmeer" is a new documentary project about the landscape and the people on the coast line ond on the islands around the Wadden Sea, on the German and the Danish side. The region, also known as North Friesland and Southern Jutland is a vast area of Europe extremely rich in terms of history, nature and culture . The photographs have been taken during three bicycle trips along the coastline of the Wadden Sea from 2019 until 2021. The selected b/w photographs are going to be exhibited until the middle of the autumn at Multimar Wattforum in the beautiful town of Tönning (DE) .

"Smaalensbilder", new exhibition
opening at Moss Museum (NO).
Smaalensbilder is a documentary about the landscape and the rural culture of Østfold, an historical region of Southern Norway. The photographs have been taken during a bicycle trip though several municipalities of Østfold in 2020. The result, 35 selected b/w photographs, is going to be exhibited at Moss by- og industrimuseum for the whole summer 2021.

"Jordfast" opens today at
Samsø Museum (Denmark)
Jordfast is a photographic portrait exploring Samsø's local people, its landscapes and architecture. A rural culture that is fundamental for this Danish island's identity. In collaboration with Samsø Museum, the project has been developed in an etnographic and at the same time artistic way. Started in 2013 and ended in 2020, the result of this unique project has now become an exhibition and a book. The exhibition will be hanging at the museum in Tranebjerg until the end of the summer. At the museum it is also possible to purchase the book recently printed at Narayana Press.
Samsø Museum is part of Moesgaard Museum, one of the most important museum for ethnography and cultural history in Scandinavia.

Book release and exhibition at
Svendborg Museum (Denmark)
Svendborg Museum is going to exhibit "Ø-Folk" photo documentary about the Danish islands south
of Funen. The exhibition is a collection of photographs taken between 2011 and 2020 in the islands: Drejø, Skarø, Hjortø, Ærø, Langeland, Thurø, Tåsinge, Birkholm, Lyø, Avernakø, Bjørnø and Strynø . At the opening it will be launched the brand new book "Ø-Folk" edited by Svendborg Museum and financially supported by Kulturregion Fyn. In the book, 154 pages, you can find the pictures exhibited
at the exhibition and some interesting historical culture articles written by Esben Hedegaard, director at Svendborg Museum. It will be possible to purchase the book directly at the museum or through this website.

"Out in landscape- Into History"
Exhibition at Augustiana Kunsthal (DK)
Out in the Landscape - Into History" is a new photo exhibition about the Danish islands: Als and Broagerland.
The exhibition, 35 b/w photographs printed on silver gelatine paper, is officially part of the celebration of the 100th years anniversary of the reunification of Denmark with Southern Jutland. The motivs are rural landscapes, traditional architecture and most of all portraits of people in their everyday environment. The photographs are taken with a large format analogue camera in 2019 and 2020.
The exhibition is hosted by Augustiana Kunsthal, in the amazing White Palais in Augustenborg.

The islands of South Funen: "Ø-Folk"
New exhibition at Søbygaard (DK)
"Ø-Folk" is a photo documentary about the Danish islands: Avernakø, Bjørnø, Birkholm, Drejø, Hjortø,
Langeland, Lyø, Thurø, Tåsinge, Skarø, Strynø and Ærø.
The project is inspired by Danish adventurer and artist Achton Friis travels through the same islands over 100 years ago. The exhibition is a collection of 75 b/w photographs, many of those for the first time exhibited. The motivs are rural landscapes, traditional architecture and most of all portraits of people in their everyday environment. The photographs are taken with both medium and large format analogue cameras from 2011 and 2020.
The exhibition is located at the wonderful castle and museum Søbygaard, on Ærø.

"Norden" opening this week at
Fondazione CRC, Carrara (Italy)
Norden, photo documentary about the Scandinavian and Baltic rural culture of the 21. century, will be exhibited at Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Carrara.
The exhibition space, located in the wonderful Palazzo Binelli in the middle of the old town of Carrara, will host around 30 b/w photographs of landscape, rural architecture and people in their everyday environment. All the photographs are printed in the darkroom by the photographer in his own dark room at Atelier Nyboder, Copenhagen.

"The Blink of an Eye" soon opening at Dokfoto Gallery, Tallinn (Estonia)
Exhibition about the Estonian rural culture of the 21.century. The 62 b/w photographs have been taken in a period from 2015 until 2018 in several Estonian regions. The project has been developed and realised in collaboration with EVM - The Estonian Open Air Museum.
In occasion of the 100th years anniversary of the Estonian Republic, EVM has collected these photographs by mean of a photo book: "An Italian's Estonia". The book will be released at the exhibition's opening at Dokfoto Gallery in Tallinn.

Double exhibition opening at
Lågdalsmuseet and Dåset (NO)
A new photo documentary is going to be exhibited this coming weekend at Kongsberg (NO) main museum Lågdalsmuseet and at Dåset, Flesberg municipality rural museum. The exhibition focuses on the rural culture of Numedal and Sandsvær.
These areas, part of the Norwegian Buskerud region are rich of history and particularly important for their very well preserved buildings from the Middle Age.
At the opening ceremony it will be released the book, edited by Polistampa in Florence, containing around 140 b/h images from the documentary.
The entire exhibition and book project is financed by Lågdalsmuseet and Flesberg Municipality.
The exhibition is part of "Middelalderuka 2018" program, an entire week dedicated to cultural events focusing on Middle Age along the whole Numedal valley.

at The National Museum of Finland
The photo exhibition "Ihminen ja luonto" will open tomorrow at The National Museum of Finland, Helsinki. The project wants to document the rural people and cultural landscape of Finland. All the b/w photographs are taken with a large format camera during a trip around Finland in collaboration with architect Liga Gaile, in 2016.
At the opening it will be released the exhibition's book edited by Finnish editor Parvs.
The National Museum of Finland is located in the hearth of Helsinki. The building is a masterpiece of the Finnish romantic style of the beginning of the 20th century.

"Norden" exhibition and book release at Villa Bardini in Florence
The photo exhibition "Norden" will open this friday in Florence. The exhibition, for the first time in Italy, is a selection of 60 analogue b/w photographs from several trips in the Scandinavian and Baltic countries during 2011 and 2017.
The Villa Bardini museum is one of Florence most important ones. It is located on the hill in the Oltrarno neighbour of the city.
At the opening, it will be released the book with 120 photographs edited by Ente Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze.
The exhibition and book release are under the patronage of the Embassies in Italy of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Norway and Sweden.

"Folk og landskap"
opening at Telemarksgalleriet
A brand new photo documentary about the people and cultural landscape in Øst-Telemark is opening this coming Saturday at Telemarksgalleriet in Notodden.
In total 114 b/w photographs taken during four trips in the Norwegian historical region during 2017. The documentary intends to portray the rural culture of the 21st century.
Telemarksgalleriet is part of Norsk Industriarbeider Museum, one of the most important museums of Norway.
At the exhibition's opening a new book with 90 selected images from the project will be officially presented to the public.
The book is edited by Telemarksgalleriet with the kind support of Fritt Ord foundation.

"Man and Nature in Latvia", photo documentary about the rural culture of the XXI century is opening today at Madona Local history and Art Museum.
Madona is a beautiful old town in the Vidzeme region. The b&w photographs are analogue handmade prints, documenting

New exhibition opening at Ogre Museum
"Man and Nature in Latvia" will soon be exhibited at The Ogre Museum of History and Art. The museum is located in a beautiful newly renovated building from Soviet time in the middle of Ogre. The town, situated in the central part of Latvia, it's know for its past health resort activities between the middle of 19th century until
the Second World War.
The 50 b&w photographs are analogue handmade prints. They depict the landscape, the people and the rural architecture of the four historical regions of Latvia: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale.

The traveling exhibition Man and Nature in Latvia will be exhibited for the whole summer 2017 in the wonderful Baroque style Ungurmuiža manor. The manor is located in the Gauja National Park, close to the historical town of Cēsis.
The around 50 b&w photographs are analogue handmade prints. The pictures have been taken in the four historical Latvian regions: Kurzeme, Latgale, Vidzeme and Zemgale. The motifs are landscapes and portraits of farmers and people met on several trips around Latvia from 2013 until today.

Artist talk and exhibition at Nesset Prestegard, Norway
The photo documentary "Undrer meg på hva jeg får å se" is going to be
exhibited for the whole summer 2017 at Nesset Prestegard, Eidsvåg (Norway). The museum is part of Romsdalsmuseet,
which is for sure one of the most important museum for cultural history in Norway.
Opening day is this coming sunday at 13.00. At the opening it will be possible to take part of the artist talk, focused on the theme and technique of the photographic project.
All the pictures are b/w analogue prints. The pictures were taken in several trips around all the region's municipality, from 2014 till 2016.

Exhibition about Muhu at
Muhu Museum - Estonia
A selection of photographs of the Estonian island Muhu will be the theme of the exhibition: Man and Nature on Muhu. The exhibition is organised by the island's museum, located in the village of Koguva, Muhu.
The b/w photographs of landscapes and people have been taken during the summer 2015. The exhibition will be on for the entire summer 2017.
The works are part of the documentary project about Estonian rural culture in collaboration with Estonian Open-Air Museum: Man and Nature in Estonia. The documentary is going to be published by mean of a photography book in 2018 in occasion with the 100th year anniversary of the Estonian Republic.

Exhibition about Funen at
Den Fynske Landsby
The photo exhibition "Mennesker og Landskaber - Fyn i det 21. århundrede" will be opened on June 1 at Den Fynske Landsby.
The b/w photographs of landscape and people have been taken during several trips to many of the municipalities of the Danish region of Funen: Ærø, Langeland, Faaborg, Assens, Svendborg, Kerteminde, Nyborg and Odense.
All the photographs, shot between 2012 and 2017 will be be exhibited in front of the public for the first time this coming Thursday. The exhibition will be on for the entire summer 2017.
Den Fynske Landsby, situated in Odense, is an important open-air museum for Danish rural culture, collecting traditional farming houses from all over Funen.

Article about Funen project
on "Fyens Stiftstidende"
The journalist Marie Jung, in collaboration with photographer Peter Leth-Larsen has written an article for the Danish newspaper "Fyens Stifstidende" about my photo project on the rural culture of Funen. The project intends to document people, landscape and traditional architecture of this important
historical region of Denmark.
The documentary is a work in progress and will exhibited for the first time at the museum "Den Fynske Landsby" in Odense in the beginning of June 2017.

Photo exhibition opening at "Dauderi"
National History Museum of Latvia
The travelling exhibition Man and Nature in Latvia will open at "Dauderi" National History Museum of Latvia. The museum building named "Dauderi" was built in 1897 as private villa for a rich family of Riga.
The documentary is a work in progress and is the result of several trips around the four historical regions of the Country.
The b/w pictures are shot with large and medium format cameras.
The exhibition is curated by the well known Latvian architect Līga Gaile.

Man and Nature in Latvia, travelling exhibition about Latvian rural culture will open this coming Friday at Valmiera Museum of Regional History and Art. The museum is located in the old centre of Valmiera, the largest city of the historical Vidzeme region.
The documentary is a work in progress and is the result of several trips around the four historical regions of the Country, starting from 2013 until today.

Exhibition and book release at Romsdalsmuseet in Molde
New exhibition, opening on October 6 at Romsdalsmuseet. The documentary project is the result of several photographic travels through the eight municipality of Romsdal, one of the most important Norwegian historical regions.
The around 100 b/w pictures are entirely shot with a large format camera. Romsdalsmuseet is also the publisher of the book collecting the photographs. The book will be officially released at the opening of the exhibition.

Lesja Bygdemuseum is hosting for the entire summer 2016 the documentary project : "En fotografisk rejse gjennom Gudbrandsdalen".
Around 50 b/w photographs of the landscapes, traditional architecture and people of Gudbrandsdalen, the historical, idyllic Norwegian valley, starting in the North in Lesja municipality and ending in the city of Lillehammer.
During the exhibition period, handmade analogue b/w photographs will be for sale.

Upcoming new exhibition at
Estonian Open Air Museum
The exhibition "Man and Nature in Estonia" is going to be opened at the Estonian Open Air Museum on June 1. Around 90 b/w analogue prints of portraits, landscape and traditional rural architecture. The photographs have been taken in several regions of Estonia, like Raplamaa, Jogevamaa, the islands of Muhu and Saaremaa.
The Estonian Open Air Museum is a life-sized reconstruction of an 18th-century rural/fishing village, which comes complete with church, inn, schoolhouse and several mills. The site, located 8 km to the west of Tallinn city center at Rocca al Mare was established in 1957. The museum showcases 68 farmhouses assembled into twelve farmyards from North, South, East and West Estonia.

First exhibition of 2016:
New opening at Talsi Museum
The exhibition "Man and Nature in Latvia" will be opened at Talsi Museum from March 9. The project,
made in collaboration with The Ethnographic Open-Air Museum of Latvia, aims to show the beauty of the Latvian landscape and to preserve its memory through the photo documentation of what is remaining of the Latvian rural culture.
Talsi Museum is an important center for culture and art exhibitions situated on one of the nine hills of the town of Talsi. The building itself is a masterpiece of the neoclassicism style of the late 19th century.
